Biography

Based in HOK’s London studio, Brian leads the firm’s Science + Technology practice in the United Kingdom, Europe and the Middle East. With more than two decades of experience, he has designed and delivered complex research environments for corporations, universities and government agencies.

Brian specializes in creating high-performance environments where researchers can do their best work. With a background in architectural engineering, Brian brings expertise in laboratory planning, containment design and regulated environments, leading multidisciplinary teams through all design and construction phases.

Brian is a recognized expert in high-containment biological research facilities (BRF/BSU), where safety, security and operational efficiency are paramount. His experience spans new build and refurbishment projects, including work on listed and historically sensitive sites. He excels in managing phased projects on function-critical live research sites, navigating complex planning issues and leading stakeholder engagement.
